Responsibilities Involved in the Determination of Eligibility |
- Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team--observe students, interview staff and/or student, provide written reports (when appropriate), gather present levels of performance.
- Assist case conference committee in:
- determining eligibility;
- developing measurable goals;
- developing appropriate program needs/services;
- determining appropriate accommodations and modifications;
- assist in determining the present levels of performance; assist in developing a behavior intervention plan (when behavior is a concern)

Responsibilities for Assigned Students |
- Ensure IEP is accessible to all teachers and service providers and inform each of them as to his/her specific responsibilities related to implementing each student's IEP.
- Provide direct or indirect services per IEP.
- Regularly monitor the implementation of the IEP and participate in case conference committee meetings to assist in developing measurable goals and objectives.
- Ensure progress reports are provided to parents per IEP at least as often as general education peers.
- Ensure supplemental aids, services, program needs, and supports for personnel are provided per each student's IEP.
- Serve as a consultant to personnel per the IEP.
- Ensure accommodations on statewide/district assessments are implemented per the IEP.
- If behavior is a concern for the student, complete Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) paperwork (or ask for assistance with this process) and create a behavior intervention plan (BIP). Collect and shred any old IEP copies at the end of the year.

Case Conference Responsibilities |
- Arrange conference (and maintain a record of attempts to arrange the conference).
- Send out notification in a timely manner to all participants including Procedural Safeguards.
- Assure that all service providers (Speech, OT, etc) have developed and documented progress toward goals.
- Come prepared to case conference with a proposed IEP draft.
- Send required paperwork to the Office of Exceptional Programs within 3 days after the Case Conference. Shred all draft copies after IEP meeting.
